TWELFTH NIGHT

by William Shakespeare

Two twins, Viola and Sebastian, wash ashore separately in Illyria after a shipwreck, both thinking the other is dead. To ensure safe passage, Viola disguises herself as a young man named Cesario. She seeks employment with the Duke Orsino based on his noble reputation. Orsino is fixated on the Countess Olivia, who is rejecting all her suitors while in mourning for her dead brother. Orsino sends Cesario as messenger in his latest attempt to woo Olivia. Viola has already secretly fallen for Orsino, but in a troublesome twist, Olivia quickly falls for her as Cesario. To complicate matters further, Viola’s brother Sebastian is exploring the town looking just like her chosen disguise. Amidst the chaos of mistaken identities, unrequited loves, con jobs, and revenge pranks, will these twins be reunited, and will balance once again be restored in Illyria?
